We have a problem here in Dallas around this time of the year. Everyone else around the country is pulling out their Fall clothing, starting to wear their scarves and boots, and sipping on their apple cider. Here in Dallas though, we are still experiencing 100 degree weather, so the last thing on our minds is to wear out scarves, boots, and sweaters. My solution for us hot states is to transition into Fall wearing our bright colors that fall into the “Fall color family”. For me, I love wearing my maroons, mustards and dark greens…but it doesn’t seem quite appropriate yet. Instead of picking out my deep purples, blues and greens, I opted to wear some brighter reds and yellows with a neutral chambray shirt to give a Fall feel without being too dark. Wearing bright colors in the Fall is very doable, especially if you are still experiencing the heat. So if you are feeling uncomfortable fully transitioning into the Fall season, no fear! Keep wearing those brights with your darker neutrals, and you’ll be golden.
I’m absolutely obsessed with these flats from Top Shop. The second I saw them, I knew I needed to have them because they are such a fun style, and they go with everything I have. They also have other colors, so if red isn’t your thing, they also have black. If you are looking for a fun pair of flats this year, these are definitely the pair to get!!
If you all might have noticed, I’ve been absent from the blog for the past week, and I’m SO sorry! I was out of town visiting my family in Kentucky and just having the best time! My family hasn’t been together in one place since 2012 (3 years!!) because my littlest brother has been serving an LDS mission in Brazil for the past two. Last week he finally came home to us and we had a fun time catching up, watching football, and taking family pictures. I was also assigned to cover New York Fashion Week for AOL this past week, so I was busy doing that while I was away (see my coverage of the Tommy Hilfiger show, and the Nicole Miller show). I plan on catching up all of you on my past week as fast as my little fingers can type, so stay tuned!!
