Photography: Becca from Beckley & Co
So I’ve found a new favorite place in Dallas.
I ventured off to the Bishop Art’s District in Dallas last weekend to meet up with the fabulous Becca from Beckley & co. I’d never been to this art district, but I was really excited to go! I love artsy parts of town…there is so much character and so many fun shops! Little did we know there were going to be fun twinkle lights and holiday cheer AND a little festival going on while we were there! I was in heaven! I am definitely going to go back there soon!
And let’s talk about feathered skirts for a second. I because obsessed with them the first time I saw them…and I had to have one! I’m not one to wear mini skirts, and it seemed like all of the feathered skirts were way to short for my liking. So what does a crafty lady like myself do? I made my own haha! I’m in love with how it turned out, and I’m definitely going to wear this all the time!
I’ve also gotten a lot of questions about how I made this skirt…so If you’d like a how-to blog post… leave it in the comments!! I’d love to share my knowledge!!
What are your thoughts about crazy, fun ostrich skirts? Are they a yay or nay?
xoxo
PS: if you are in Dallas and you want some pictures taken…definitely get in contact with Becca! She was amazing to work with and so fun! We were instant besties haha!

As I was scrolling, I am first in shock and awe over the shoes and the skirt, GORGEOUS! Secondly, I'm like who is doing this awesome photography? Love the way she captures you so naturally posed. And you made the skirt? Please start selling them!! I can't/won't wear mini skirts either. The one you made is exactly the perfect length. And, of course, I LOVE THE SHOES!
LOVE THE SHOES!!!!!!!!!!! I can't say that enough. 🙂
Love that outfit. The skirt is so fabulous!
I like the entire outfit. I really like the gold sparkle shoes.
The skirt looks so cute on you. I can't believe that you made it! You should definitely post a tutorial. 🙂
I love the feathers! I would be nervous about ruining the skirt if I sat down 🙂 The gold shoes couldn't be prettier.
I can't believe you made that! I would love to have something feathered to wear for New Years. I'd love to see a DIY!
Stopping by from Southern Girls Blog!
What an awesome DIY! I'd love to hear how you made it. 🙂 You look absolutely stunning in this outfit, but I'm not so sure I could pull it off. One, my toddler would probably shred the feathers in about an hour, and, two, I'm a pear shape, so I'm afraid that by putting that much emphasis there, I'd just look like hips with a face. Ha!
I'm just so in love with your shoes! So pretty!!!
This is such a cool look! That's such an awesome skirt. I love the bag too!
I love that skirt, it is absolutely amazing. I must have one. Thanks so much for sharing your style. Very pretty.
I love it! It reminds me of a flapper, which I have always loved the flapper style. You rocked it!
Wow, I love these photos, they are beautiful! And you look amazing, I love that jacket and the purse too.
Whoa the feather skirt looks so glamorous! Of course, it's a yay! I haven't worn anything like that. Isn't it hard to wash and dry? Your shoes looked amazing as well.
The pairing of this outfit is cute. The skirt makes this outfit pop. It's gorgeous. Also, like the touch of classic pearl necklace. Great outfit!
You made that?! I am officially jealous!! You look great girly!!
Super cute! Love that skirt, wow you look amazing!!

Oh my goodness — my mother is terrified of feathers. I would love to see her reaction if someone around her was wearing that skirt! I personally love the look. The feathers make the skirt look very soft.
Such a classy look. It's executive elegant, and you look great.
Wow, you not only look classy but also super beautiful!
Well, to be quite honest your make-up is exquisite. You have a very pretty face, and your hair looks great too, and your outfit from the waist up is perfect, and even the nylons are fine. So not sure about the skirt and shoes. Okay, the shoes aren't bad, but that skirt it needs something else for on top. I think. Otherwise you look great.
Oohh! Can I have your skirt? You look so gorgeous, and it sounded like you had so much fun dressing up. I love artsy parts of my city too. It's nice to see people creating something beautiful and exhibiting it.
Yes to the feather skirt and to your entire look! That skirt and shoes would be the star of a New Year's Eve party. I'm loving it all!
I don't think I've ever worn feathers before…not even in earrings or a hat or…does a boa count? Because I did do that once when dressing up as a flapper. I love that blue clutch that you've paired with this outfit! I think I could pull off an ostrich feather skirt if it had a little flirty flare-out to it.
such a great holiday outfit! really loving the skirt!

thank you Nina!! xoxo
Thank you so much Terri! xoxo
Thanks Liz! I love this little clutch!
thanks girl!
it is harder to wear fluffy skirts if your pair shaped…but this is a structured pencil skirt with the feathers glued to it, so I think it works. The blazer also helps to add a little bit of structure. And I totally get the toddler thing. My one year old is obsessed with the skirt!
Thanks Alexandra! I will work on that DIY post!
this skirt is surprisingly sturdy!
Thanks Mary! I will totally work on that tutorial!
thanks girl!
thank you so much Tonya!
Thank you so much!!
I should start selling them haha! They don't take a ton of time…but they would be pretty expensive (the feathers are pricey!) And thank you so much for your sweet comments!
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MADE THIS SKIRT! hopefully you're sensing my excitement through the caps haha. I would love to see a how too because I've tried on a few feather skirts and they just haven't been flattering so far!
