DIY Faux French Window Transformation

DIY, Favorites, LifeStyle

This is probably my favorite DIY project that I did in my bathroom! This DIY Faux French Window is so easy to achieve and it really brought a level of uniqueness and warmth to my space! I’m a sucker for French windows because of how classic and earthy they look. I really was going for a green and lush bathroom, that felt like a great place to relax, and adding the small detail of this French window was the perfect touch.

Supplies

  • Black Paint of your choice ( I chose a matte black paint)
  • Small Paint brush
  • Caulking strip in black
  • Razor Blade or scissors
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Level

This DIY is super simple. To start, tape off the edges of the window you will be painting black. This will ensure the black paint stays just on the window frame.

Next, carefully add black paint to the window frame. You might need to add a primer or sand the frame before hand if the black paint isn’t sticking well. I used 2 coats of black paint to cover the whole frame.

Next, decide how many squares you are wanting on your window. I went with dividing the window into 6 squares. Measure out where the middle of the width is as well as dividing the height into thirds. Use your level and place the black caulk strip along the divisions. Use your razor or scissors to cut any excess off.

To finish, touch up any black paint on the frame and make sure the strips are level and straight. And you have a DIY Faux French Window!

Check out my window’s transformation below:

I love this transformation so much! It was so easy and so fun! If you try this out in your own home, be sure to tag me on social media and show me your results!
