As we prepare to buy a new home, I am also planning how I’d like to style the rooms in my house. My next room to tackle after the nursery will be my son’s room. Since he’s now 2, I wanted to update his room to make it a little bit older, but still keeping the fun little boy feel to it. I also want it to double as a guest room for when we have family come into town, hence the bigger bed. For his room, I want to bring some grown up elements into it (rod iron, striped fabric, etc), but also add some fun, whimsical detailing to it to make it a fun room for him! He loves animals, trucks, and dinosaurs, so I want to add some fun art and toy storage incorporating his favorite things. All of the details will have a sophisticated look, but won’t take away from the little boy’s dream room that I want him to have! I want to make his room something that can grow with him, but not spend a ton of money as he grows, which is why I want the base decor to be something he can have for a long time. As he grows and we switch up his accessories, it will be fun to see how his room evolves!

Some fun details I’d like to add: a reading teepee/reading nook (he loves to read), a fun bean bag chair for Everett to lounge in, creative toy storage options to hide clutter, but also having fun details to add to the room, an organized closet (I NEED to work on my closet organization!), and an art corner where we can display all of his drawings and art projects.
