Beauty: How to Save Money on Beauty Products

Beauty, Favorites, Reviews

This is such a great list of ways to save on all those expensive beauty products. So helpful!

It’s no secret that beauty products can get expensive quickly. And if you love trying new products out like I do, makeup can take a toll on your budget! Over the years I’ve discovered many tricks to help me save money on my beauty hauls, and I want to share them with you today! And if you have tricks of your own on how to save money on beauty or fashion, comment down below!

Store Loyalty Cards: Don’t underestimate the power of those store cards they are always asking you to sign up for. You often rack up points fast, which helps lead you to huge savings on beauty purchases! And on top of racking up points, you also get emailed coupons and get notifications on awesome deals! This might not seem like a huge savings, but trust me, it does. Another fun thing about these loyalty programs is they often will send you coupons for free things during your birthday month! My favorite store cards/point systems are: Target’s Red Card (get 5% back on all purchases), sephora VIB membership, Ulta loyalty points, and the Walgreens card.
A Caution: Be weary about signing up for retail credit cards. Although they do offer great discounts sometimes, every time you sign up for a card it hurts your credit score. I definitely have a card for the stores I shop at most often (J Crew and Nordstrom) because of the discounts, but if you are signing up for credit cards left and right to get 10% off…it will hurt you in the end.
QVC: This is seriously the best place to get HUGE deals on high end makeup! QVC usually will bundle a few makeup items as well, and it’s always the price of just one item if you bought it at Sephora! They don’t have every brand of high end makeup out there, but they are always adding more and more brands! Tuesday’s are usually the beauty days on TV, but they always have great deals during the week. And you definitely don’t have to watch TV to see these deals. Just head to their website and search by brand or see what the deal is that’s being offered on the air. Some of my favorite brands that they sell: Josie Maran (seriously…I’m obsessed with everything by her), Bobbi Brown (also obsessed), it cosmetics, Philosophy, Tarte, Mally Beauty and Bare Minerals.
Discount Stores: Most people don’t think to check out their local Nordstrom’s Rack for beauty deals…but seriously girls, you can score some serious loot there! One time I found Kate Spade Lipstick (normally $25) for $7.50!!!! I mean you can’t beat that! I’ve scored some awesome stuff from Smashbox, Lorac, Stilla, and Essie at this store. Nordstrom’s Rack is by far the best discount store for makeup, but make sure to check out Ross, Marshals, and TJ Maxx for hair care and other beauty categories. I’ve found high end hair care products there for super cheap!
Hautelook.com: This website is seriously amazing for scoring deals on fashion and beauty. Hautelook is a company by Nordstrom, and everyday they post new deals on different brands and trends. As far as beauty goes, they post awesome stuff everyday! I’ve scored some sweet stuff from Lorac, Stilla, Josie Maran, Bh cosmetics, NYX, and The Balm. Sometimes you have to be quick though, things can sell out fast!
CCO’s or Cosmetic Company Outlet: I have to start off by saying that these outlets are not everywhere…and unfortunately they don’t have a website (side note: they have a website in the UK, but I’m not sure how much shipping would cost for the US). If you have one by you though, YOU NEED TO CHECK IT OUT! They sell high end makeup at discounted prices, and you get some serious deals from these stores! They sell brands like Clinique, Bobbi Brown, MAC and Smashbox. And if you are looking for something that sold out of stores, always check there. I’ve seen Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks go for around $30 (usually $48) and huge discounts on Clinique face wash.
Reading Beauty Blogs and Watching Beauty Youtubers: Here’s a little secret…youtubers and beauty bloggers are constantly finding drug store dupes for high end makeup. I know I am constantly researching cheaper options. Your pocket book will thank you for tuning into their hours of research. I plan on posting videos and blogs about drugstore makeup that looks like high end products, so make sure you stay tuned! And sometimes bloggers and youtubers are offered special discounts from companies to share with their readers, so the more discount codes you hear about, the more you save! It pays to read these blogs!!!
Signing Up For Company Emails: I know, I know…sometimes you seriously hate getting 20 spam messages a day from companies telling you to shop, shop, shop. But seriously, if you want to find out about amazing discounts, it pays to sign up for these emails! Along the same lines, sign up for the Ulta catalog. Whenever they send it, it’s always full of amazing discounts and there is always a coupon on the back! Companies will offer the best discounts to their loyal customers, so you really will find the best discounts through these emails.
Don’t want to get a ton of spam in your main email account? Create a free gmail account and use it primarily for these company emails. That way you only have to look at them when you want to!
Download Apps Geared Toward Coupons and Discounts: There are a ton of apps out there designed to search for coupons. My favorite is RetailMeNot. Sometimes these coupons are a hit, but sometimes they are a miss…but there’s no harm in trying!
Can You Afford to Wait? Huge Sales ALWAYS Happen During Holidays and 3 Day Weekends: I’m sure this isn’t news to you, but the best sales happen during holidays. That is seriously the best time to shop in stores. Just a couple of weeks ago, Nordstrom had their Half-Yearly sale, and I scored 3 high-end mascaras for the price of 1! How do you find out about these sales? Sign up for sale alerts, get emails from the company, or read my blog/follow me on social media (I always will alert you of the best sales, and the best way for you to hear about them is through my social media!).
I hope you found this post extremely helpful! I love sharing my tips and tricks with you guys! Make sure you follow along, pin this to pinterest, and share this with your fellow fashionistas/beauty lovers!
xoxo
